PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Peninsula Holds Off Marina in Finals

Palos Verdes Peninsula defeated Marina, 3-1, in the championship match of the South Torrance boys’ soccer tournament Tuesday.
David Kaemmerer scored two goals for Peninsula, which improved to 9-0. Ethan Miller scored midway through the second half for Marina (4-2-2) after the Vikings had trailed, 3-0.
In the consolation championship:
Huntington Beach 1, Torrance 0--Robert Ryan scored midway through the second half for the Oilers (5-3-1). After losing to Loyola, 1-0, in the first round, Huntington Beach’s defense, led by goalkeeper Matt Goldman and center fullback Keith Morrissey, had four consecutive shutouts.
