Northwest Buys 20 Boeing Canada Planes: Northwest Airlines is buying 20 aircraft for about $190 million from Boeing Canada to expand service, primarily at its Detroit hub, the Minnesota-based carrier said. The 20 De Havilland Dash 8 Series 100 aircraft are expected to be flown by Mesaba Aviation Inc., which operates as Northwest Airlink, a feeder carrier for Northwest. Deliveries of the 37-seat aircraft will begin in April, 1992, and continue through May, 1993.
