Top-seeded Goran Ivanisevic of Croatia beat Bryan Shelton, 6-4, 6-2, and will meet Christian Bergstrom of Sweden for the title in the Australian Hardcourt championships at Adelaide.

Unseeded Bergstrom defeated sixth-seeded Carl-Uwe Steeb of Germany, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, in gaining his first ATP Tour final.
