Two Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores were robbed Wednesday night near San Carlos, the third time in two days that a franchise of the chain has been robbed, police said.
At about 5:45 p.m., a man armed with a pistol robbed the Baskin-Robbins in the 7300 block of Jackson Drive, Police Sgt. Brian Blagg said. The man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, was wearing a beige jacket, black jeans and a black baseball cap.
About 15 minutes later, a man armed with a pistol and fitting the same general description, but dressed in a light gray or white sweat shirt and a pair of jeans, robbed the Baskin-Robbins in the 6100 block of Mission Gorge Road, Blagg said. In both of Wednesday’s robberies, the suspect fled on foot.
About 6 p.m. Tuesday, the Baskin-Robbins in the 2500 block of El Cajon Boulevard was robbed by a gunman of similar appearance, Blagg said.
Nobody was injured in any of the robberies, and police would not disclose how much cash was taken, Blagg said. San Diego detectives are investigating whether the robberies are connected.
