SAN CLEMENTE — A chase through 35 miles of Orange County by U.S. Border Patrol agents Wednesday night ended when the car they were chasing crashed on a Stanton street, authorities said.
The chase began about 8 p.m. at the Immigration and Naturalization Service checkpoint on Interstate 5 south of San Clemente.
Border Patrol units chased a car with suspected illegal immigrants north along the San Diego Freeway for almost 40 minutes, until the car crashed on Idylwild Drive, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
