The city’s Task Force on Alcoholic Beverage Policy last week recommended allowing beer and wine to be served at restaurants.
Mayor Suzanne Crowell directed city staff to get more information about what the possible change in city law would involve.
The measure might come up at the City Council’s Feb. 12 meeting, said City Manager Keith Till.
Councilman W. Michael Johnson said that before any changes are made the city should look at how close restaurants are to schools and at standards for parking at restaurants opting to serve beer and wine.
