The Movie That Rocks “Hook”: The debut of “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” shoved “Hook” out of the top spot of the Friday-through-Sunday box office derby, earning about $7.5 million at just 700 screens, according to industry estimates Sunday. The Disney thriller, starring Rebecca De Mornay, became the first movie in five weeks to top TriStar’s “Hook,” which took in about $6.6 million at more than 2,000 screens. “Hook” has now taken in more than $90 million.
