Victor A. (Chip) Perry III joined Times Mirror Co., parent company of the Los Angeles Times, as vice president, development, of the newspaper group, where he will work on a broad range of strategic projects, including exploring new revenue opportunities, overseeing structural cost-improvement efforts and evaluating major capital investments.
Perry, 38, will report to Richard T. Schlosberg III, group vice president of newspapers. The announcement Monday marked Perry’s return to Times Mirror, which he joined in 1988 as director of corporate planning. He became special assistant to The Times publisher in 1990, leaving last year to join Rosemead-based SCECorp, parent of Southern California Edison Co., where he was responsible for planning and development.
