Investor Group Raises Storage Equities Stake

An investor group led by Storage Equities Inc. Chairman B. Wayne Hughes raised its stake in Storage Equities to 9.9% of the Glendale-based company’s stock.
In a filing with the federal Securities and Exchange Commission, the group said it bought 155,090 additional shares between Nov. 25 and Jan. 10 for $8 to $8.50 a share. The group also sold 2,000 shares Jan. 13 for $8.75 a share, and now holds 1.48 million shares overall.
Storage Equities is a real estate investment trust that invests mainly in self-storage warehouses managed by affiliates of Public Storage Co., of which Hughes also is chairman.
