Remember the old “I Love Lucy” shows, the ones in which Ricky was always trying to keep his dizzy, redheaded wife from appearing in his nightclub act and poor Lucy had to resort to stunts, like selling Vita-Meata-Vegamin, to make it to the Tropicana stage?
Maybe Lucy would have had better luck if mambo mania had been around in the 1950s. Then she could have sashayed over to Let’s Dance L.A. in Alhambra, with Ethel Mertz in tow, to sign up for what is being billed as the hottest all-day mambo and salsa seminar since Little Ricky cut his first tooth.
This is not a sport for the faint of heart or the flabby of limb. Saturday’s seminar will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will feature four mambo masters--including Ron Montez, seven-time U.S. Latin dance champion.
Seminar participants will be divided into groups and rotate among four experienced dance teachers during the day.

dancing. The music will be mainly mambo and salsa, but there will be a few Latin rhythms of the cha-cha, samba and merengue thrown into the mix.
Tickets for the seminar and the evening dance are $45 pre-sale; $50 at the door--216 E. Main St. For the dance only, tickets are $10 pre-sale, $12 at the door.
