The City Council on Monday approved the Feb. 24 installation of a temporary traffic diverter at Hayden Avenue and Higuera Street in an effort to direct cars away from the residential area and onto National Boulevard.
The diverter will be in place on a trial basis for 60 days, while noise, safety and traffic flow is studied on Hayden Avenue, Higuera Street, National Boulevard and surrounding streets.
The Higuera Street bus line will be rerouted to Hayden Avenue and National Boulevard.
Funds for the diverter and data collection have been included in the Redevelopment Agency’s current budget.
