LA HABRA — A 72-year-old La Habra woman was killed and two other women were injured in a two-car collision Wednesday night, police said.
Mary Armstrong died in the 5:15 p.m. collision, Lt. Joe Milazzo said. A passenger in her car, Sylvia Hower, 75, of La Habra, was flown in a helicopter to UCI Medical Center in Orange with internal injuries, police said.
The driver of the second car, Renita Willkes, in her mid-30s, of La Habra was taken to Friendly Hills Regional Medical Center in La Habra with chest, back and neck pain, Milazzo said.
Police said Armstrong was a passenger in a car traveling east on Lambert Road. The driver, Zora Palmer, 77, started to make a left turn at 1001 W. Lambert Road when she collided with the Buick driven by Willkes, who was traveling westbound on Lambert Road.
Palmer and the three passengers in Willkes’ car, ages 3 to 6, were not injured, police said.
