CLU Women Fall to Christ College

Center Gitte Mejer scored a game-high 33 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds Thursday, leading Christ College of Irvine past host Cal Lutheran, 96-49, in a women’s nonconference basketball game.
Only two players--forward Cathy Clayton with 22 points and guard Evelyn Albert with 13--scored in double figures for Cal Lutheran (1-14).
Mejer played just 28 minutes for the Eagles (20-3), who led, 50-17, at halftime. Teammate Nancy Geisler added 15 points, Stacy Kirch had 14, and Genevieve Graff had 12 points and 11 assists.
CLU made just seven of 26 shots in the first half and was 19 of 54 (35%) for the game. Christ College outrebounded the Regals, 52-29.
