California IN BRIEF : PALM SPRINGS : Plane Crash Victims Are Identified

Two men killed when a single-engine plane crashed in the San Gorgonio Pass were identified Saturday. Pilot Daniel C. Nielson, 33, of Yucca Valley and his passenger, Jeffery Owen Goughnour, 47, of Desert Hot Springs were killed on impact, said Deputy William Browman of the Riverside County coroner’s office. The Cessna 150 aircraft crashed at 3:15 p.m. Friday near Interstate 10 about seven miles northwest of Palm Springs, according to fire officials and the Federal Aviation Administration. The cause of the crash was not known.
