BUENA PARK : Storage Explosion Prompts Evacuation
- Share via
An explosion and fire ripped through a single-story storage garage Tuesday evening, prompting the evacuation of several people from a nearby motel, authorities said.
The 6:50 p.m. explosion involved an undetermined flammable liquid, Fire Battalion Chief William L. Jones said.
Jones said fire officials helped evacuate about 25 guests at the Plaza Inn Motel as a precautionary measure. No injuries were reported, he said.
The explosion ripped through a wall and blew out two doors of a single-story storage area at 6900 Oslow Circle.
Fire officials called an Anaheim Fire Department hazardous materials team to the scene to help determine what chemicals were involved.
