Business owners on Garvey Avenue are eligible for up to $5,000 in city money to improve their storefronts.
The City Council on Monday approved design standards for renovating facades, awnings and signs on Garvey between Atlantic Boulevard and New Avenue.
Using U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development money, the city will contribute half the cost of the improvements, up to $5,000.
There is a total of $60,000 available, and priority will be given to storefronts that have not been renovated for two years. Applications for the matching money are available in City Hall.
