Protectionism

I’m getting a bit tired of hearing from our economists and most of our politicians that trade protectionism against Japan would raise prices. Granted that this be the case, so what?
With the resulting stronger economy we would at least have the money to pay these additional charges. Thus more money goes into circulation, making more jobs, etc.
