Shearer points out that the Santa Monica beach is something in which Southern Californians can take pride. Another nice area is the coastline of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Unfortunately, like the Santa Monica beach, the Palos Verdes shoreline is changing. The numerous recently constructed homes and other developments threaten to deprive us of the last stretch of quiet, undeveloped and uncrowded coastline that is less than a day’s drive from Los Angeles.
