Time Warner Buying Maxwell Book Unit: The book publishing arm of media giant Time Warner Inc. has agreed to buy the British publisher Macdonald & Co. for an undisclosed price. The administrators that a British court appointed to handle the affairs of Maxwell Communication Corp., Macdonald’s parent, said the deal should be completed in three weeks. The administrators have been selling the non-core assets of Maxwell Communication to help pay its debts since the company filed for bankruptcy court protection from creditors in Britain and the United States in mid-December.
