The Sheraton Anaheim hotel officially reopened Wednesday after a $15-million renovation that included a refurbishment of all 500 hotel rooms, restaurants, banquet facilities and the hotel lobby. A fire sprinkler system and other safety improvements were also installed.
The hotel, on West Ball Road on the edge of Disneyland, was bought two years ago by Pacific Islandia Guam Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of a Japanese company, Pacific Islandia Resort Inc.
“We are positioning the Sheraton Anaheim as one of the prime properties in the area,” said Kaneyoshi Kawamoto, president of the hotel chain. “We offer the largest guest rooms in Anaheim.... The renovation will allow us to capture a larger part of the leisure travel market.”
