La Canada Flintridge : Sound Walls on 210 Urged

The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution calling upon the state Department of Transportation to build sound walls along the portion of the Foothill Freeway (210) that crosses the city.
Caltrans conducted sound testing at eight points along the route last month to determine whether freeway noise exceeds the state maximum. Evaluation of the tests has not been completed.
Councilman Chris Valente, who introduced the resolution, said it was in response to longstanding homeowner complaints.
“The city has been waiting for over 20 years to buffer the constant noise to residents,” Valente said.
