FANTASTIC VOYAGE: When astronaut Lacy Veach makes four school stops today in Anaheim and Santa Ana, one message is sure to intrigue students: He vows we’ll put a human on Mars rather soon. . . . “By 2008, we’ll have the technology,” says Veach. “It will be 150 days out, 600 days on the planet, and 120 days back,” he says. “A lot like Magellan’s trip around the Cape.” Is there life on Mars? “I’d love to go see,” Veach says.
