Several Nebraska football players have been kicked off the team after seven were arrested in connection with a brawl with members of the school’s baseball team, Nebraska Coach Tom Osborne said. He declined to identify which players were being punished.
Among those arrested were Brian Havens, a linebacker from Los Alamitos, and Todd Gragnano, a quarterback from Los Alamitos.
Police said a group including some baseball players forced two football players to leave a party Friday night because the football players wouldn’t pay a cover charge for beer. The two came back later with other members of the football team and a fight ensued. Six members of the baseball team and one former player were injured, police said.
