A man robbed an Oxnard bank Thursday after threatening to shoot a teller with a gun he claimed to have in his pocket, police said.
The man, who handed the teller a demand note, fled on foot from the Bank of America branch in the 1800 block of Oxnard Boulevard after the 1:40 p.m. holdup, police said.
Witnesses said the robber, described as a Latino of medium build, in his 30s, and wearing a black jacket and baseball cap, escaped on Oxnard Boulevard with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
The FBI is looking into the case, said Gary Auer, the agency’s Ventura County supervisor.
