Steve Alford, basketball coach at Manchester College, has signed a long-term contract to continue coaching at the school in North Manchester, Ind. Alford took over the 0-8 program in mid-December and finished with a 4-16 record.
As a player, Alford led Indiana University to the NCAA championship in 1987 and played guard for four years in the NBA.
