Hamburger Hamlet Earns $654,000 Profit for Quarter
- Share via
Hamburger Hamlet Restaurants Inc. reported a $654,000 profit for the first quarter, compared with a year-earlier loss of $285,000.
The earnings rebound came on an 18% increase in the company’s revenue, to $15.1 million in the quarter ended March 29 from $12.8 million a year earlier.
The gains partly reflected Hamburger Hamlet’s opening of three new restaurants in 1991. The company’s “same store” revenue--from outlets open at least a year--edged up 2% in the latest quarter.
Hamburger Hamlet also noted that it opened another store last week in Northridge, increasing its system to 27 restaurants in the Southern California, Chicago and Washington, D.C., areas.
