Ron Kiino of Foothill signed a national letter of intent to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he will play baseball, his father, Ron Kiino Sr., said.

Kiino, an outfielder and left-handed hitter, didn’t play baseball at Foothill. Instead, he played in various leagues year-round and received batting instruction from Angel coach Rod Carew.

Kiino also visited Washington and Princeton.
