Racism and L.A. Riots
As an American citizen, born and raised in Los Angeles, I am outraged by the incendiary comments of President Bush regarding the causes of the rioting. It is absurd for him to state that the bleeding is caused by the Band-Aids, that the seeds of this destruction were sown by those woefully few attempts to help those in the inner-cities over the last two decades.
How dare he seek partisan political advantage in this disaster? How dare the President place the priorities of his own reelection bid over the essential needs of the damaged lives in the cities?
His comments make me ashamed (and fearful) to be a white man in America.
