Oliver Saxon Gramling, 87, Associated Press news executive who began the wire service’s broadcast operations. Gramling, who worked for the AP for more than 40 years, also wrote a history for the news service’s centennial in 1948, “AP: The Story of News.” During his career, the news service went from no broadcast members at the start of World War II to more than 2,000.
