How Stocks Fared in May

The blue chip rally continued in May, lifting the Dow industrial average another 1.1%. Meanwhile, smaller stocks rebounded from their winter selloff, boosting the NASDAQ composite index also by 1.1%. Year-to-date, most stock indexes now are virtually unchanged.
