Arab Discrimination

I would like to comment on your article regarding John Schwartz (“One Word Stalls Saudi Visa: Jewish,” June 17) .
I don’t just know how many Air Force, Army, Navy or Marines of Jewish faith there were among the hundreds of thousands of Americans who fought in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War to save them and Kuwait from annihilation from their “good fellow Arabs,” the Iraqis, but I’ll bet there was a great percentage.
And now, the Saudis refuse to allow one man of Jewish faith to participate in a legal auction of surplus American equipment no longer needed, which we Americans, at great cost, sent to them!
Is it any wonder that peace between the Israelis and the Arab countries seems to be hopeless if only one citizen of the United States can be denied a visa to any Arab country because of his religion?
