EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: A lot of vacationers have more fun--and pay a lot less--camping out at the beach. The most popular spot in the county: Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, where $21 a day gets a campsite on the beach with a fire pit and picnic table. Better be an early riser, however. . . . Phone reservations start at 8 a.m. and there’s such demand that it “sells out within the first eight minutes every morning,” says attendant Debbie Loe. And that’s for 56 days in advance.
