ORANGE : Resident Promoted to VP at Chapman

Cindy Dougherty, an Orange resident, has been named Chapman University’s vice president for enrollment and student life.

Dougherty was promoted from her position as vice provost for enrollment and student services to head a new division that will combine that department with the school’s “student life” division.

The new division will house admissions, financial aid, student employment, counseling services and academic support under one roof. Uniting the offices should improve efficiency, Dougherty said.

“The people who enroll students are now part of the same team that gets them through to graduation,” she said. “They will have a much better idea of what they can offer the students they recruit.”
