Anglers at Pyramid Catching Up to Bass

Fishermen at Pyramid Lake have been following, and catching, striped and largemouth bass that have been chasing, and catching, threadfin shad that have congregated on the surface in the channel between the marina and Nugget Point.
Bob Hanley, a Pyramid regular from Westchester, caught his limit of stripers several times last week, topped by a 10-pounder. Ray Merrill of Arleta pulled a 9-pound largemouth from the area on Tuesday and an unidentified angler weighed in a 4-pound smallmouth bass.
