Nigel Mansell left his rivals nearly two seconds behind in practice for the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, England. Mansell, seeking his seventh victory in nine races this season and driving on his favorite track, won the provisional pole with a lap in 1 minute 18.965 seconds.
