The “songs” advocating violence that have been around for years (“Suddenly, They Hear the Words,” by Elaine Lafferty and Tammy Bruce, Commentary, July 6) have always been harmful, offensive, and unacceptable. They’ve simply expanded the subject material to include law officers, and public officials. It’s disgusting . . . and wrong.
It has never been legal, or allowable to yell fire in a public place, yet all of these so-called “songs” do just that. Freedom without responsibility promotes anarchistic behavior, and that’s what were experiencing today. It threatens the safety and future of all decent, law-abiding citizens in America.
