* Alan Perris has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president of first-run syndication programming at Columbia Pictures Television Distribution in Burbank, a unit of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Perris joined Columbia from Scripps Howard Broadcasting Co. in Cincinnati, where he was president of in-house production.
