The following are selected entries from the crime logs of local law enforcement agencies between July 6 and July 12:
Glendale
Wilson Terrace, 1500 block--Power and hand tools and other equipment, valued at approximately $17,000, were stolen from a construction site. The thefts were reported July 6 by Coan Construction Co. and Berg Electrical Co., and on July 8 by Harmon Contract Inc.
Paula Avenue, 400 block--A man was arrested for investigation of counterfeiting on July 6 after police found evidence in his apartment of such activity, including numerous pieces of equipment used in producing forged financial documents.
Maple Street and Central Avenue--A woman reported that a man who had offered her a ride at noon July 8 drove her to dead-end street, raped her and abandoned her at the location.
East Chestnut Street, 600 block--Arson was believed the cause of a fire in an apartment building July 9 at 2:45 a.m. Three units were damaged. There were no injuries or arrests. Damage estimates were incomplete.
Altura Avenue, 3700 block--A thief pushed open a window at a locked home where the residents were sleeping between 10:20 p.m. July 9 and 6:30 a.m. July 10 and stole $1,080 cash from a pants pocket and purse.
Honolulu Avenue, 2200 block--Four men posing as customers at Anna’s Jewelry distracted the clerk and stole $810 worth of jewelry at 10:57 a.m. July 10.
North Columbus Avenue, 400 block--A woman visiting from London reported that a purse, containing $75 cash and a ring valued at 500 British pounds, was snatched from her by a man as she was walking to her hotel from the Glendale Galleria at 9:27 p.m. July 10.
West Garfield Avenue, 400 block--A woman walking home with her young son was robbed of her purse, which contained $16, at 8 p.m. July 11 by two men who pushed her and the child to the ground before fleeing.
Montrose
Hermosa Avenue, 2500 block--Burglars entered a locked duplex through a window and stole video and camera equipment and other items, valued together at $2,095, between 2 and 6 p.m. July 9.
Highland Park
North Figueroa Street, 5800 block--A man simulated a gun under his shirt and robbed a fast-food restaurant clerk of a small cash register and money, valued at $1,050, at 9 p.m. July 7.
North Figueroa Street, 6100 block--Burglars entered a fast-food restaurant through roof air ducts and stole a TV and appliances, valued at $17,700, on July 8 or 9.
Avenue 52 and Monte Vista Street--A man befriended a woman on a bus and then snatched her purse and money, valued at $525, at 12:35 p.m. July 10. The thief ran from the bus and escaped in a waiting vehicle.
York Boulevard, 4500 block--Jewelry and cameras, valued at $3,000, were stolen from a home that also was ransacked between 8:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 11.
La Canada Flintridge
Indiana Avenue, 4500 block--A man whose family was housesitting for a friend reported that his daughter held a party on July 9 at the home, and a video camera, wet suit and underwater camera, valued together at $2,200, were found to be missing after the guests left.
Ocean View Boulevard, 5700 block--A cellular phone valued at $1,323 was stolen from an unlocked car between July 6 and 7.
Vista Miguel Drive, 5100 block--A car phone valued at $1,400 was stolen from an unlocked car on July 6 or 7.
Atwater
Andrita Street, 3200 block--Two men struck a pedestrian with a gun and fled with $50 in cash at 8 p.m. July 8.
Atwater Avenue, 3500 block--Burglars pried the screen off an open apartment window and stole telephone and stereo equipment, valued at $1,630, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. July 9.
Fletcher Drive, 2400 block--A man robbed a person in a parking facility at gunpoint of a wallet containing $373 and a set of keys to the victim’s car, which the thief used to escape.
Eagle Rock
Eagle Vista Drive, 1100 block--A woman asked two men to hold her purse while she used a restroom in a park at 4 p.m. July 7, and they ran off with $448 cash and her credit cards.
Colorado Boulevard, 2100 block--Supplies, valued at $10,000, were stolen from a hair salon on July 10 or 11.
Echo Park
Mohawk Street, 1200 block--Burglars broke a window of a rear door to enter a home, and a television valued at $1,000 was reported stolen on July 6.
Echo Park Avenue, 2400 block--Burglars ransacked a home and stole computer equipment and a wallet, valued together at $2,015, between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. July 6.
Glassell Park
North Figueroa Street, 3200 block--Two people were ordered to get out of their truck by two men armed with a semi-automatic handgun at 4:45 a.m. July 9. The thieves fled in the vehicle.
Silver Lake
Silver Lake Boulevard, 1300 block--Between June 30 and July 6, thieves pried open a metal security lock from a door, ransacked the home, and stole jewelry and video equipment valued at $6,500.
Griffith Park Boulevard, 1800 block--Burglars used a crowbar to pry open the front door of an apartment and steal a stereo and TV, valued at $2,080, between July 4 and 6.
Glendale Boulevard, 1400 block--A man described as acting autistic distracted a person in a parking facility while two accomplices, a man and a woman, stole a wallet and jewelry, valued at $6,246, from the victim’s shopping cart at 6:30 p.m. July 6.
Griffith Park Boulevard, 2700 block--Burglars smashed a window to enter an apartment between 6:50 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. July 7. Money and video equipment, valued at $5,500, was stolen.
Newell Street, 2700 block--A man and a woman knocked on the door of a woman’s home at 2 p.m. July 10 and, when she answered, forced their way inside at gunpoint and robbed the victim of a TV valued at $425.
Los Feliz
Hillhurst Avenue, 2100 block--Thieves pried open the security door of a pizza parlor on July 5 or 6 and stole property valued at $1,200.
Moss Avenue, 2600 block--Three men, all armed with handguns, robbed a man of his car, money and jewelry, valued at $420, at 12:20 a.m. July 6.
Bellota Way, 3300 block--Video equipment and a stereo, valued at $1,320, were stolen from a home between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. July 6.
North Vermont Avenue, 1700 block--A man armed with a revolver robbed a bank teller of $1,670 at 11:38 a.m. on July 6.
Mt. Washington
West Avenue 37, 900 block--A man who had left a guest in his home while he went to a hospital at 4 p.m. July 5 returned at 7 p.m. to find his TV and video equipment, valued at $5,350, missing and the guest gone.
West Avenue 41, 300 block--A burglar opened a garage door and then entered a home through an unlocked door inside between 12:30 and 7:30 p.m., and a TV and video equipment, valued at $1,800, were stolen.
