Mattel Inc. said its second-quarter earnings rose 31% on record sales of $404 million.
The El Segundo-based toy maker said it earned $23.4 million, or 23 cents per share, compared to $17.9 million, or 17 cents, during the same period a year ago. Sales were up 23% from the 1991 quarter’s $328 million.
