Lockheed posted a 10% gain in earnings on flat sales, owing to stronger performance in its aircraft and electronics sectors.
The aerospace firm earned $77 million, or $1.24 per share, on sales of $2.48 billion in the second quarter, compared to $70 million, or $1.11, on sales of $2.43 billion in the prior year’s quarter.
The Calabasas firm’s backlog slipped to $8.4 billion from $8.8 billion at the start of the year, while employment was down to 71,400 from 72,300 on Jan. 1.
