The IOC’s executive board proposed the introduction of two new medal sports, curling and freestyle skiing aerials, into the 1998 Winter Games at Nagano, Japan.
It is possible, IOC spokeswoman Michelle Verdier said, that curling might become an official sport as soon as 1994 at Lillehammer, Norway, and that freestyle skiing aerials might not make its debut until 2002.
