‘Disgusting’ Perks

I am absolutely outraged at the arrogance of those who made this come about (car allowances for county officials), particularly when our country and its citizens are experiencing severe financial difficulties.
How do they dare cut deeply into social services, even eliminating some, when these are needed more than ever, to pay their extravagant benefits out of the shallow pockets of us taxpayers? How dare they consider this an acceptable “privilege of office.” Public servants are they?
I, for one, still believe this should be a government “of the people, by the people and for the people.”
