Ivan Ivanov of Bulgaria won the gold medal when he totaled 584 pounds. En route, he tied the Olympic flyweight clean-and-jerk record by lifting 331 pounds.

China’s Lin Qisheng finished second after totaling 579 pounds, and Romania’s Traian Ciharean won the bronze with 557 pounds. No Americans were entered in the flyweight division.
