Queen Mary

I was shocked to hear that a recent study found the Queen Mary seriously deteriorated and in bad state of repair due to the lack of a “definitive maintenance schedule.” It has been reported for quite some time that the Walt Disney Co. has been unable to profitably operate the ship. And upon year’s end they will pull out, leaving the ship’s future in doubt. Certainly we cannot blame the success-oriented Disney Co. for pulling out. But as the operator, Disney assumed the responsibility to both promote and preserve this landmark. And as the caretaker, there is no excuse for allowing the ship to decay.
