As the Los Angeles County State Central Committee representative, I protest the uninformed, misinformation about the American Independent Party of California (letter, July 30). Yes, the AIP registration is up, but not because people are wrong or stupid. It is up because people generally agree with our platform on the deficit, on the economy, but most of all on who controls our government, we the people or unresponsive incumbents.
Many (myself included) AIPs are saddened by Ross Perot’s withdraw as an active candidate, we will continue working to build the volunteer corps and create a creditable alternative to unresponsible incumbent politics that comes at people, not from them.
