WESTMINSTER : 2 Unchallenged Trustees Retain Seats
- Share via
Westminster School District Trustees Nancy Blumenthal and Kathleen Stirling Iverson will automatically retain their seats because no one filed papers to challenge them in the November election.
County registrar of voters officials said that no one filed papers to run for those seats by the Aug. 7 deadline, and that Blumenthal and Iverson would be reappointed to their posts. Their new terms will expire in four years.
Iverson said Tuesday that the lack of competition suggests that residents support their decisions, and added, “I think it says that we’ve been doing a good job, at least to this point.”
This will be the second term for Iverson, who was elected to fill an unexpired term in 1990.
Blumenthal will also be starting her second term. She was first elected to the board in 1987 to a one-time only, five-year term after the district decided to hold its elections in November.
