Storms Destroy 2,500 Acres of Grapes in Bordeaux

BORDEAUX, France — Violent weekend storms destroyed about 2,500 acres of ripening grapes in the famed Bordeaux wine-making region, officials said Tuesday. The unseasonal rain and hail came in a growing season with the worst weather since 1977, the Interprofessional Center of Bordeaux Wines said.
