Attendance for “The Tempest,” which opened GroveShakespeare’s outdoor season at the 550-seat Festival Amphitheatre in Garden Grove, came to 55% of capacity for its 23 performances from June 24 to July 25. General manager Charles Johanson said the theater sold a total of 6,990 tickets to the show. He said he was pleased by the gross receipts of $45,205, which slightly exceeded projections of $44,000.
