With these new federal “violation of civil rights” charges being leveled against the four LAPD officers, will King be called as a witness? I would like to hear his explanation of why he first tried to elude the CHP by speeding down a freeway at 115 m.p.h. Again he tried to escape the LAPD, on city streets, by doing 80 m.p.h., before being cornered and stopped. I’d like to further hear his explanation of why he resisted, thereby forcing the officers to take appropriate action.
To date, no one, including Mayor Tom Bradley, the Police Commission, ACLU, et al., has come up with a solution as to how King and other uncooperative lawbreakers should be controlled in the future.
