BETTER LATE: Milton A. Gordon will have headed Cal State Fullerton more than two years when he’s formally invested as president on Sept. 25. . . . He postponed the ceremony last year because of state budget cuts. But a streamlined event is now planned, linked to this fall’s annual Concert Under the Stars. Campus critics say it sends the wrong message at a time of layoffs and class cuts. But a Gordon aide said the nearly $25,000 cost will come from private funds.
